content05

Accurate assessment of any self-accredited skill is the best way to obtain strong credentials and proven expertise. Our language assessment services provide comprehensive insight into proficiency in English and over 190 foreign languages by the highest standards in the industry. Language assessment involves evaluating an individual’s skill levels in interpretation and translation by means of monitored oral and/or written exams. Our services are available to individuals needing formal certification for a self-acquired language skill or companies interested in certifying their multilingual employees for the purpose of compliance with federal, state, or company regulations. LRC®  has the experience and resources necessary to perform these assessments accurately and affordably, employing high standards, and yielding assessment results you can trust.

Our Language Assessment Process

Language Fluency Assessment

LRC® employs oral and written language assessment exams that evaluate the general fluency of individuals in a particular language. After the assessment, clients are provided with a complete analysis of the test results, which indicate the individual’s strengths and weaknesses and provide a numerical proficiency level with meanings ranging from “Unable to Communicate in Target Language” to “Complete Fluency in Target Language.”

Interpretation Skills Assessment

Fluency in more than one language does not mean an individual is able to interpret those languages. As part of our Interpretation Skills Assessment, individuals participate in a 16-hour workshop that reviews formal procedures and standards of professional interpreting. After the workshop, individuals are required to complete a written evaluation that assesses the individual’s understanding of national interpretation standards as well as general fluency in the language(s) to be interpreted. A complete report on the individual’s interpretation and language evaluation results, as well as a certificate of successful completion of the workshop, are provided to the individual/client.

Translation Skills Assessment

Fluency in more than one language does not mean an individual is able to translate those languages. As part of our Translation Skills Assessment, individuals participate in a 16-hour workshop that reviews formal procedures and standards of professional translation. After the workshop, individuals are required to complete a written evaluation that assesses the individual’s understanding of national translation standards as well as general fluency in the language(s) to be translated. A complete report on the individual’s translation and language evaluation results, as well as a certificate of successful completion of the workshop, are provided to the individual/client.

Industry-Specific Language Assessment

Fluency in a particular language does not necessarily indicate an individual’s knowledge of industry-specific vocabulary. At LRC® we provide custom-designed language assessments specific to our clients’ industries and/or areas of expertise within an industry. We work closely with you to create assessment materials that will evaluate exactly what you need in over 190 languages.
